Per 6th October 2019:
2019 vintage's looking excellent. No violent outbursts from weather Gods through spring and summer, dry summer and occassionally some rain in August and September, which especially will help Cabernet Sauvignon to ripe perfectly.
Some vignerons told me that it looks like a mix of 2016 and 2018, maybe a similar one 2009 with better tannin. I've noticed on several pictures published on Facebook by vignerons of grapes and stilks, showing that grapes look stunning and stilks are red-brown which is a great sign of ripeness!
I'll be in Bordeaux for 5 days between 7th and 12th October, 2 days on Right Bank and 2 days on the Left Bank. Just to get a sniff of the 2019's quality. I've read Andrew Black's chronicle few days ago and there are some very interesting interviews with winemakers.
My impressions will follow soon!
